What is FUROSHIKI?
It is a square cloth made of silk, cotton, rayon or other synthetic material to transport one's personal effects.
The charm of Furoshiki cloth is, you can tie furoshiki in all different kinds of ways to suit the size and shape of the contents within. This simple cloth is handy for carrying items easily without damaging their shape and they are also very versatile, their number of uses stretching as far as your imagination, as they can even be used as mats and for storage as well. When not in use, furoshiki fold up compactly, a quality that bags and baskets do not possess.

#1 A WOMEN PLAYING A POPPING/ KITAGAWA UTAMARO
This is one of Utamaro's masterpiece. A young women is playing a poppin' which is a small grass toy. She is blowing it to make a popping sound. The bright red checkered pattern kimono is absolutely sublime. 
#2 THE GREAT WAVE/ HOKUSAI
It is the most iconic work of Japanese art. The breathtaking composition with the cresting wave and Mt. Fuji express stillness and movement. Also it is famous that European artist Debussy and Vincent Willem van Gogh were inspired.
#3 The GODS OF WIND AND THUNDER (FUJIN-RIZIN)
#4 THE RED FUJI/ HOKUSAI
One of the masterpieces of Hokusai works. It is also called the red Fuji. Hokusai captured the moment that the rising sun turn out Mt. Fuji in red in early autumn to depict imposing atmosphere of Mt. Fuji. 
#5 YAKKO EDOBEI/ SHARAKU 
The majority works of Sharaku portraits of actors or scenes from Kabuki theater. It is also depicted a scene of a Kabuki program. The name of acter is Ohtani Oniji playing the roll Yakko Edobei. The tightly closed mouth and the opened hands show us his energy and dynamism.
